Survival Remorse — Healing While Building

Hey family,

This week, we’re diving deep into something real—survival remorse. Ever felt like you've done everything to rebuild your life, but still carry guilt for making it out? That’s the weight many of us carry. This issue isn’t about being stuck—it’s about learning how to live free and feel worthy of that freedom. You're not alone in this journey.

THE SILENT STRUGGL

You can’t build on a shaky foundation. Mental and spiritual wellness are essential for business success.

  • Quick Tools:

    • Daily journaling: Track your mental patterns.

    • Scheduled rest: Burnout sneaks up. Rest on purpose.

    • Therapy or mentoring: You deserve safe, healing spaces.

MAIN STORY

At first, I thought I knew what freedom looked like. I thought I was free the moment I stepped out of prison. But the truth? I still felt trapped. Trapped by old thoughts, survivor’s guilt, and the haunting memories of people I couldn’t save.

I worked hard—bone-tired hard—to create a new life. But even with accomplishments, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I didn’t deserve them. That’s when I learned it takes more than hustle to heal. It takes prayer, faith, and sometimes, two pairs of knee pads.

I’ve seen darkness I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I’ve heard screams in silence and felt the weight of hopelessness. And still—I'm here. Building, growing, and trying to help others do the same. That’s survival remorse. Wanting to pull others up even when you're barely standing.

Mental health is not optional in this game. Being a business owner drains you. You’re expected to show up when you barely have anything left. That’s why you have to fill your cup daily—mentally, spiritually, physically.

I’ll leave you with something my NA mentor told me:
"Only focus on the things you can change."

Let go of what wasn’t yours to carry. You’re still here for a reason.
